The TWC tour continues, visiting some of Colorado’s top wedding related venues!
I have to say, this was a difficult evening for me. I had some dental issues, but had invited two new vendors and didn’t want them to think I was ditching them! So even though I wasn’t at 100%, I was there, scraping the fantabulous goat cheese off of the cracker because the cracker was too difficult to eat. 😉
The Fort Restaurant in Morrison, CO has such a rich history, and it was SO cool to learn about the past and where the restaurant came from. And of course, because I’m an animal lover, Sissy Bear was probably my favorite story. Biased? Maybe, but my husband wasn’t happy when I came home stating that I wanted a black bear for a pet.
The Fort has been featured in SO many publications, and has hosted some of the world’s most important leaders. They’ve won culinary awards, and the venue itself is a unique venue with some awesome views. All of this sounds great right, what you’d want to hear about a wedding venue? But here are some things you may NOT know that are super cool. They have Native American dancers that can be called to entertain your wedding guests. Or how about a helicopter entrance to your own wedding? Or a cannon, shooting after you say I Do! Jennefer is the private dining manager, and she shared so much with us, she is clearly very knowledgeable and excited about The Fort! We were too, when she was done. That’s the sign of a good teacher, right? When the students are just as excited as the teacher is!
I’m sure you want to get onto the pictures right? Everett was our photographer for the evening, and the photos are awesome! There are so many that I can’t add them all into the post, but if you’d like to see ALL of them, make sure to follow us on Facebook to see the full slideshow!
Not only do we get to see some amazing venues, but the events are open to all wedding professionals, and we meet lots of new people too!
The gatekeeper… 🙂 Just kidding Mark! Mark is our awesome On Tour event planner, and as such, usually greets everyone at the door!
He must have been very, very bad.
The Fort has hats that they bring out for birthdays and other special events, including weddings!
Isn’t there a rule against feeding wildlife?
The owner Holly explained more about the history of the restaurant, and the people that made the dream come to life – her parents! She also taught us a special toast, that I cannot repeat here – you’ll have to visit the restaurant and ask!
Robert was VERY excited to win a Sissy Bear! He ended up giving it to me though… and she now sits proudly in my bedroom. Yes, I’m a sucker!
It was such a beautiful evening, and going up into Morrison was SO nice. When it gets really warm in Denver, it’s always a welcome escape to head a little further West, and higher in altitude. Morrison is a beautiful town, and The Fort is definitely on my list of “wants” for date nights! Brides, grooms, couples – if you would like an authentic western experience, or just something that is a little different, this is an amazing venue. The views are great, the rooms are beautiful, and the restaurant itself is great – but the people there were all so nice and made sure we were all taken care of. Definitely a NEED for your wedding day!
Here are some of the wedding professionals that donated their time, products and services to making this evening awesome.
